Silent retreat – Autumn 2025

If you are searching for a profound way of getting closer to God, you should consider this silent retreat for CAYAC members.

Participation is possible only if you are able to attend the entire retreat and observe the requirement of silence. The number of participants is limited to 10.

Age group: 18-35 years.

Price: DKK 300 per person.

Place: Vor Frue Kloster, Høsterkøbvej 1, 3460 Birkerød. Accommodation is in single rooms, most of them with private bathrooms. 7 persons can join the minibus to get there, the rest most go there themselves.

The retreat will be led by Fr. Daniel and is rooted in the spirituality of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Its theme is “Is the Lord in our midst or not?” (Exodus 17:7). Together we will explore the challenging aspects of the spiritual life, when God seems hidden and faith becomes difficult.

Time: Friday 21 November, we meet at 5:00 pm at Sankt Augustins Kirke. You can also meet up directly at Aasebakken around 5.30 pm. We finish Sunday 23 November around 2:30 pm.

The meals: The food is made by Naja and will be vegetarian.

The silence: Most of the retreat takes place in silence, so you cannot talk to the other participants from Friday at 8:30 pm to Sunday at 11:00 am. Your phone must be in flight mode, turned off, or you can hand it over. You get presentations, texts and spiritual exercises, so you don’t have to worry about how time will pass. Please don’t bring homework or duties to fulfil. There is also ample opportunity for walks in the surrounding area, especially in the beautiful Rude Skov. Each participant is given the opportunity for a short conversation of 15 minutes with Fr. Daniel.
