CAYAC spring trip to Maribo

Come join us for our trip to Maribo on May 10-12.

Maribo means “Mary’s home” and was founded as a monastery in the 14th century. The old monastery church is now a Protestant cathedral, but 20 years ago a new monastery of Brigidine nuns was founded.

We will have plenty of time for games, hiking, moments of prayer and delicious dining.

We will stay at the Catholic School and have Sunday mass in the local parish. The price is 180 kr.

Thursday May 9 is a holiday in Denmark, so may of you won’t have work or classes on Friday 10. You can join us in a train from København H Friday 10 at 15:44. The plan is to be back on Sunday 12 with a train to København H that arrives at 19:18.

Who are the Protestants?

For many CAYAC’ers their stay in Denmark is their first time in a non-Catholic country, and they might not know much about the Protestant churches. 18-25 January is a worldwide week of prayer for the unity of Christians and a good chance to get to know more about other Christians.
Sunday 21 January after the mass at 6 pm we will have a potluck dinner, and between the main course and the dessert fr. Daniel will give a little talk about how the Protestant churches were born and what the situation of the churches is in Denmark in our time.
