Sunday Guest

This Sunday we are going to eat together on the tower after Mass. We will also have a guest whose name is Arno Steen Andreasen. He will give a talk on:

How do we find meaning in life as well as in suffering?
Some research suggests that people are happier and live longer if they find meaning in life. So how do we do it and does our Christian faith offer us any help in identifying a lifechanging purpose that is worth living for and dying for?

***
Arno has been a pastor for more than 20 years in a community church working primarily in the UK. He has also been overseeing churches and ministries in South Asia. Today, he is working with the homeless as well as migrants in Central Copenhagen. Arno is the author of two books and is putting the finishing touches on his third book.

NEW ACTIVITY: Oremus group

Do you find it easy to pray? Is prayer an integral part of your day? Do you hear God’s voice in your daily life, and know how to respond accordingly?

For many of us, the answer to these questions is, no. We all desire an intimate relationship with God. But, since learning to say our prayers as children, we never moved beyond rote recitation to an authentic conversation with God.

The Oremus study program teaches the essentials of an effective and fruitful prayer life. Following the Tradition of the Catholic Church and the wisdom of the saints, we will learn how to express ourselves to God in prayer, and how to hear his voice.

We are starting from the 1 of November and we will continue for 6 weeks.

Time: Thursdays after the Mass (i.e. from 18:45).

The agenda: dinner, screening of a short video and then sharing thoughts.

Study program will take 2 hours in total.

Participation is free, yet we are grateful in advance for Your contributions towards the dinner 🙂

Would You like to participate?

Workshop for lectors

As previously mentioned, we will have a mini workshop for lectors and the time is on next Sunday (23.09) for about 30 min after the Mass (hence approximately 19:00-19:30). The event will take place in the church after the Mass where all of us will be encouraged to move to the first 1-2 rows in the right side of the church, in front of the lectern. The workshop is primarily designed for lectors, but also for those among the assembly who are interested to hear and/or to join the ministry.

We will briefly go through the spiritual (prayer and mindset, reflection on and understanding biblical text, Liturgy of the Word, etc.) and practical (preparation, procedure, movement, articulation, using the microphone, etc.) aspects of serving as lectors. At the moment, the format is that I will mostly share my experience that I obtained during training and preparations as lector. In the future, we can have more sessions covering different aspects if needed. Hope to see many of you and to also receive feedback and sharing from you all.

NEW ACTIVITY: Theology on Tap

Dear CAYACers,

We care about our relation to God and our faith; we want also our everyday life to be as Holy as possible 😇 Then why not to speak about these topics in a more… secular environment, with a pint of good beer in hand and couple of locals around?🍻🍻🍻

In so called Theology on Tap we go to a pub in Copenhagen, grab some beer and have an informal discussion about theology and faith in everyday life context. In this way we can feel more relaxed sharing our thoughts and also reach out some future CAYACers!

So, SAVE THE DATE: 21.09 (Friday). We gather at St. Augustin’s Church right after the Danish Mass (around 18:45). Then we go to the pub (Fr. Paweł chooses which one).
